The XYZ Encouragers are made up of men and women who are blessed to be age 60+ and would like to fellowship with others "in our age group," so to speak.
The XYZ Encouragers were organized for exactly that reason and because of our desire to enjoy activities, flavored with food, fun and fellowship. This is not a club, nor is it a membership group. Everyone is welcome to attend any of the activities. We just ask that you sign up anytime a sign-up sheet is out for a count.
The XYZ Encouragers' name came from ideas in the first group outing. "XYZ," meaning we are usually at the end of the line, and "Encouragers," in that we wish to share from our years of experiences and be of encouragement to others. The theory may be that anyone can have enough sympathy for themselves and what everyone needs is encouragement from others; therefore, the name – XYZ Encouragers.
Psalm 71:18 says, "And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come."
